Meaning of Azumabashi:

But non-Japanese-speaking people call it Azumabashi Bridge. However, if we translate it from Japanese to English will be ‘Azuma Bridge.’

The reason why the bridge is named Azumabashi is- it’s on the eastern side of Edo. So it literally means the Eastern Bridge of The Edo Period (now the Eastern Tokyo). At the same time, the bridge is one of the important connections between eastern Tokyo and western Tokyo.
