Fukuro Matsuri started in 1968. It is a parade of portable shrines (mikoshi) with Yassa dance.
It is held in Ikebukuro Station outside of the west exit on 14-15 September every year, attracting more than 200,000 visitors.
Similarly, Otsuka Awa Odori Dance is one of the famous festivals in Toshima. This festival is a group performing with colorful costumes dance and attracts over 150,000 visitors.
It is held in Summer in front of JR Otsuka Station.
