How to Get to Kinugawa Ropeway From Kinugawa Onsen Station

If your arrival time does not match the shuttle, take a taxi. The taxi ride from Kinugawa Onsen Station takes about five minutes. Walking is possible, but it takes around 30 minutes, so I would not spend that much sightseeing time walking unless you specifically want to explore the town on foot.
Kinugawa Ropeway Ticket Prices
Buy your ticket at the lower ropeway station before boarding. The current round-trip fare is ¥1,400 for adults and ¥700 for children. A one-way ticket costs ¥800 for adults and ¥500 for children. Children’s fares apply from age four through elementary school.
For a normal sightseeing visit, buy the round-trip ticket. You will take the ropeway to the summit, explore the observation area, monkey park and shrine, and then return on the same route.

What Is the Kinugawa Ropeway Ride Like?

Yes. Kinugawa Ropeway works particularly well on the afternoon you arrive.
If you reach Kinugawa Onsen before your hotel check-in time, leave your luggage at the hotel or use the lockers around Kinugawa Onsen Station. Then take the shuttle to the ropeway, spend an hour or so at the summit and return before checking in.
This gives you something worthwhile to do without committing to a major attraction such as Edo Wonderland on your arrival day.
