Background:

The first Hibiya Park Christmas Market was held in 2015 with the motif of the German Christmas Market Dresden in Dresden, the birthplace of the Christmas Market.

The market opened from 11- 25 December 2015, putting 14 meter-high Christmas pyramid just like a german village keeping a target of the medieval period or middle ages European Christmas Market.

The executive committee kept the name of the market, Tokyo Christmas Market, which attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.

This year 2022, the eighth Tokyo Christmas Market is 17 days long, from December 9-25. No doubt, this year will break any previous record.

Of course, there are huge differences between western and Japanese Christmas. Traditionally, shops, houses, offices, roads, and central city squares transform into Christmas Decorations with charming and glittering lights during the Christmas season in the western country.
