Getting Tokyo Skytree from Asakusa:

There are 4 options to get Tokyo Skytree from Asakusa, such as 

1) Subway 

Asakusa- Oshiage Station

(Toei Asakusa Line)

2) Tobu Rail Line

Asakusa -Tokyo Skytree Station

(Tokyo Tobu Skytree Line)

3) Bus

Asakusa Square- Tokyo Skytree

4) On foot (best option)

It takes 15 minutes on foot.

The best option is strolling from Asakusa Kaminarimon Gate to Tokyo Skytree on foot, enjoying breathtaking views of the surroundings. You’ll find out hundreds of tourists are heading towards Skytree from Asakusa through the Sumida River Walk pedestrian bridge.

No matter which walking option you choose, remember to buy snacks from Nakamise Shopping Street or Convenient Store.

There are two ways to walk from Asakusa to Skytree-

You can arrive at (H)Tokyo Skytree going through (E)Asahi Beer Hall from (A) Kaminarimon Gate by crossing (B) Azumabashi Bridge 

**A-D-H

You can arrive at (H)Tokyo Skytree walking through the (C)Sumida River bank without crossing (B) Azumabashi Bridge. Then you’ll cross the Sumida River through (D) Sumida River Walk.

(A) Kaminarimon Gate:

Kamainarimon Gate is the main gate of the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. At the same time, the famous Nakamise Shopping Street starts from the gate.

Many tourists get to Tokyo Skytree from Kaminarimong Gate to experience breathtaking views of the surroundings. The beautiful sceneries of the surroundings on the way to Sky Tree offer immense joy to the tourists.

(B) Azumabashi Bridge:

The first stop on our stroll from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree is Azumabashi Bridge. This famous bridge spans the Sumida River and offers stunning Sumida River and surrounding views. If you’re lucky, you may catch a fabulous glimpse of a water bus or a Skytree shuttle passing underneath the bridge.

At one end of the bridge is Asakusa Station, where you can catch the Tobu Railway to Nikko or Kinugawa Onsen. On the other end is the iconic Asahi Beer Hall.

As you walk across the bridge, take a moment to appreciate the view of amazing views of the Sumida River, Asahi Beer Hall, and Tokyo Skytree. Then, if you’re feeling adventurous, rent a kimono, stroll on the river banks, and take great shots with the two iconic Towers as many do.

(C) Sumida River Bank :

One of the must-see attractions when strolling from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree is the Sumida River. The river flows through the heart of Tokyo and offers a peaceful escape from the city’s busy streets. As you walk along the river, you’ll be mesmerized by the breathtaking views of Tokyo Skytree, the bustling boats passing by, and the city skyline in the distance.

The river is also home to some of Tokyo’s famous bridges, including the Azumabashi Bridge. This iconic red bridge is a great spot for taking photos or admiring the view. In fact, the bridge has been a popular subject for painters and poets for centuries. Another side is the Sumida River Walk pedestrian bridge, which offers fantastic vantage points to take in the views of the river and its surroundings. Sumida River Walk is a pedestrian Bridge over the Sumida River that connects two parts of Sumida Park. As you know, Sumida Park is located on both sides of the Sumida River.

Sumida Park is a beautiful green space that runs alongside the Sumida River, perfect for a peaceful stroll during your trip to Tokyo. The park is a famous spot for locals and tourists alike, and there are plenty of things to see and do here. As you stroll along the Sumida River from Asakusa to Tokyo Skytree, you’ll come across the famous Asahi Beer Hall. The golden flame-shaped structure is hard to miss, and it’s worth stopping by for a closer look. 

Inside the Asahi Beer Hall, you’ll find a range of dining options and activities to keep you entertained. If you’re interested in Japanese culture, consider renting a traditional kimono for the day and wandering around the building’s beautiful gardens.

And if you’re feeling peckish, there are plenty of food options on offer, from pub-style snacks to more substantial meals. 

Once you’ve finished exploring the Asahi Beer Hall, head outside and take a walk through Tokyo Skytree Solamachi Town through Mizumachi. Mizumachi is actually along with the Tobu Railway line. There are many famous restaurants, coffee shops, and bread shops here.

This shopping line is packed with fun activities and great places to eat. So you can grab something you like if you’re hungry.

(F) Makurabashi Bridge:

Many tourists miss this incredible bridge. Makurabashi Bridge is one of the best spots to shoot Tokyo Skytree over the Kitaukken River. Try to stop here for a few great shots before heading to the Mizumachi.

However, if you can’t make it because of a crowd, remember to take a photo from Genmori Bridge. Genmori Bridge has mor space, and visitors can get a chance to take pictures.

(G) Mizumachi:

Mizumachi is a part of  Sumida Park and a center of local activities. If you’re lucky, you’ll see some traditional events here. From January to December, various events take place here, such as New Year Event, Samba, Monokoto FestivalMizumachi Christmas, etc.

Besides, there is a pond with cute-colorful koi fish and turtles, surrounded by Japanese-style gardens and green lawns. So you can sit and relax on the green lawn.

(H) Tokyo Skytree:

After a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Asakusa and along the Sumida River, your reward awaits you at Tokyo Skytree – a magnificent observation tower standing tall at 634 meters. 

You can reach the top of Tokyo Skytree by elevator and take in breathtaking views of Tokyo’s urban landscape from the Observation Deck. But before heading up, take some time to explore Solamachi Town, a modern shopping complex located at the base of the tower.
