Early Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo bloom from early February to early March, depending on the weather conditions. These kinds of Cherry Blossoms in Japan are called Kawazu Zakura or Kawazu Cherry Blossoms. Many call these Kawazu Zakura Winter Cherry Blossoms. These Cherry Blossoms start blooming in late February or early March and last full one month. These Cherry Blossoms are also familiar as Weeping Cherry Flowers.

Early Sakura Best Places :
There are many places to enjoy these Kawazu Sakura in Tokyo. In many places, you can see these pale pink or bright pink Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo. In addition, some parks may have one or two Weeping Cherry Trees together.
Kawazu Sakura Festival is usually family related and small. Families go and buy bento lunch boxes from the supermarkets and enjoy these beautiful pink blooms.
However, usual Cherry Blossom Festivals in Japan are not bound only to family members but also to companies and organizations. So, compared to the usual Sakura Festival or Hanami, the Kawazu Sakura Festival is small, but it’s not that these flowers are not enjoyable. Rather, these pink blooms are really romantic.
But there are some parks where you can enjoy these winter sakura and take beautiful photos with famous landmarks of Tokyo. such as Tokyo Skytree, Former Nakagawa Kawazu Park, Sumida Park, Ueno Park, and Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura Spot.
1. Tokyo Skytree Early Sakura:
If you’re in Tokyo in late February or early March, you may not see the usual Sakura Season a little earlier. But if you still wish to see Sakura, I have great news for you.
You can straightly go to the Tokyo Skytree to enjoy Early Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo. You can enjoy beautiful weeping Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo Skytree Kawazu Zakura at the beginning of Yokogawa Shinsui Park.
You can take beautiful selfies from Tobu Bridge with Kawazu Zakura and Tokyo Skytree. Tobu Bridge is a lovely small bridge on the Kitajukken River. Hover, this bridge becomes one of the most famous photo spots in Sumida City during the early Cherry or Weeping Cherry Blossoms season.
The best time to enjoy this spot is early morning and in the evening. Many people use it as one of their favorite breakfast spots in March.
2.Former Nakagawa Kawazu Park:
Koto City is not only famous for its sports facilities but also for tourism. This Tokyo’s Special Ward has many tourist sites, parks, museums, shrines, and famous bridges, which are wonderfully worth visiting. However, most tourists don’t know about this ward.
There are many parks and river banks in the ward where people can enjoy fantastic Autumn leaves, Cherry Blossoms, and other flowers all the year. For example, Sarue-Onshi Park is famous for its Tulips, Cherry Flowers, and Autumn leaves.
On the other hand, the Former Nakagawa Kawazu Park, located other side of the Kameido Central Park, is famous for Early Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo.
So, if you’re in Tokyo, even in early March, you can enjoy Cherry Blossoms in Koto City. Bright pink winter Kawazu Cherry Blossoms will welcome you. Visit some of the famous Kawazu Sakura spots in Koto City and enjoy your time.
If you’re nearby Kameido Tenjin Shrine, you can arrive at Former Nakagawa Kawazu Park within 8 minutes on foot. Besides, the Kyunaka River is one the most famous spots for fishing. You’ll be amazed to see happy fishermen on both river banks.
However, if you arrive early in the morning, you can get beautiful sunrise shots with the lovely early Cherry Blossoms. The spot is far from Central Tokyo, but it’s amazing. It’s one of my favorite places in Tokyo.
To access this park by train, read about Kameido Central Park and it’s just another side of the river.
3. Sumida Park:
Sumida Park is one of Tokyo’s historic parks with a long history of Cherry Blossoms. Two of the most famous parks during the Edo Period were Sumida Park and Ashukayama Park.
These two parks are still very famous in Tokyo’s 23 Wards for Hanami Or Cherry Blossom Festivals. Hundreds of thousands of people visit these two parks during the Cherry Blossom season every year.
Besides, Sumida Park is located on both sides of the Sumida River. The park is famous for Cherry Blossoms Festivals, Sumidagawa Firework Festival, Cruise Tour, and the Azumabashi Bridge Viral Photo spot.
The best place to enjoy Kawazu Sakura is Asakusa Side. Two Kawazu Sakura trees start blooming in late February nearby the Sumida Walkway.
Sumida Walkway is a connection pedestrian bridge under the Tobu Line over the Sumida River between two sides of Sumida Park. So if you’re at Nakamise Shopping Street or Sensoji Temple, remember to see this spot to enjoy early Cherry Blossoms.
4) Ueno Park Early Sakura:
Ueno Park starts showing off its beauty early in the spring. The first week of March usually brings the Early Sakura or cherry blossoms. These early blooms are pink and give visitors a preview of what’s to come. Even before the full cherry blossom season, the park starts filling with people eager to see these early flowers.
These Early Sakura make Ueno Park a special place to visit in Tokyo. Visitors can enjoy the park before it gets really crowded later in the season. People come to take photos, have picnics, and relax under the pink blooms. The early cherry blossoms give everyone a reason to celebrate spring a little sooner.
However, if you have more time to enjoy Early Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo, you can visit Shinobazu Pond in Ueno Park. The eastern part of Shinobazu Pond has a few pale pink Weeping Cherry Trees.
Besides, if you’re in Koto City, then head to the Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot, which is located on Oyokogawa Or Oyoko River. It’s the same river as Oyokogawa Shinsui Park.
You can access it through Oyokogawa Shinsui Park, but it takes 40 minutes on foot from Tokyo SkyTree. Then, again, you can see Google Map.
