Yumenoshima means a Dream Island. It is an artificial island built using a waste landfill, surrounded by a canal, waterways, and a beautiful port.
15 minutes walk from Shin-Kiba Station.
History:
The Park was open on October 1, 1978, with 433,212 square meters (107.049 acres) area.
However, the whole Yumenoshima has a long history worthy of learning.
The plan of Yumenoshima started in 1930. It was supposed to replace Tokyo Municipal Haneda Airport.
Finally, the decision was taken to build an airport in 1938, and the following year work project began. However, because of Worldwar II, it failed.
Instead, Haneda Airport was expanded rather than building Yumenoshima Airport.
The island was opened as a public beach in 1947 but closed in 1950. It was used as a garbage disposal from 1957 to 1967.
In 1974, Yumenoshima, the island of dreams, was born, and finally, the park was opened on October 1, 1978.

Tokyo Metropolitan Daigo Fukuryu Maru Exhibition Hall is one of the most famous attractions of Yumenoshima Park. The hall looks like a ship from the outside.
Daigo Fukuryu Maru was a tuna fishing ship destroyed by a U.S. hydrogen bomb test at Bikini Atoll Marshall Islands in the Pacific on March 1, 1954.
The ship, Daigo Fukuryu Maru, was built in Wakayama Prefecture in 1947 for bonito fishing, but later it was remodeled for tuna fishing.
Tokyo University Fisheries repaired the damaged boat to use as a practice ship and used it until 1967.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government built this exhibition hall. The hall was opened on June 10, 1976.
The primary purpose of the hall is to spread knowledge about wooden vessels used in deep-sea fishing and the horror of H-bombs.
Moreover, the historic wooden ship is here on display the horror of nuclear weapons to future generations.
The museum was renovated in 2018.
