Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot

Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot is the best spot for Early Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo, with more than 100 Kawazu-zakura Trees on both sides of the Oyoko River. The Cherry Blossoms bloom here in February last week and last till March third week every year.

Location:

Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot is just outside the border of Kiba Park over the road, along with Oyokogawa River. It takes only a 2-minute walk from Kiba Park’s Dog Run (see Google Map )

It’s only a short walk from Kiba Station. You can use Tozai Line to access this gorgeous early Cherry Blossoms spot.

Best time to visit:

Last February -Third week of March

The best time to visit Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot is from February last week to March third week

Usual Cherry Blossoms usually bloom from mid-March to early April in Tokyo, but early Cherry Blossoms, called Kawazu-zakura, bloom between early February and early March.

Brief explanation:

This Oyokogawa Kawazu Sakura spot is one of the earliest to bloom in Tokyo. This is the best and largest Kawazu-zakura spot in Toky0’s 23 wards, where more than 100 Cherry Trees on both sides of the Oyoko River.

Besides, you can take a great shot of Tokyo Skytree with beautiful pink Cherry Blossoms in the background.

However, I like taking a landscape shot toward Soumi Bride from Oyoko Bridge.

Of course, it looks fantastic toward Toyoki Bridge from Oyoko Bridge in the afternoon, depending on your time. Moreover, it’s worth visiting.

You may find early Sakura in Tokyo; however, you wouldn’t find more than 100 trees in one place. If you can’t visit Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot, visit Sumida Park Early Sakura Spots, Ueno Park Early Sakura Spots, and Former Nakagawa Kawazu-sakura Spot.

On the other hand, if you’re nearby Shinjuku Station, you can visit Shinjuku National Gyoen Park to enjoy early Sakura.

However, if you’re near Takeshita Street or Meiji Jingu Shrine, it’s better to visit Yoyogi Park to enjoy early Sakura. But as I mentioned above, no spot has 100 Kawazu Sakura trees in one place like the Oyokogawa Promenade Kawazu Sakura spot has.

Recommendation:

Remember to visit Kiba Park’s Tourism Center near the BBQ spot. One kind of Japanese traditional sweet, Sakura Mochi, is available there. So remember to taste Sakura Mochi.

However, if you forget, you can even order online from Amazon. You can buy even from 7-Eleven while you are in Tokyo.

These sweets are tasty, and look delicious.
