However, because of its location, proper design, and development, it already became famous within a few months. It is an excellent walkway between Sensoji Temple to Skytree.
Why is it so famous?
There are always reasons behind being famous. Tokyo Mizumachi is no exception; location, easy access, some famous tourist spots, and beautiful viewpoints made it famous.
The Tokyo Mizumachi area is an extended area under the Tabu Line, starting from Asakusa eastern side to Sumida city Skytree along the Kitajukken River. However, it connected Asakusa, Sensoji Temple, and Sumida City’s Skytree straight.
Besides the Sumida River Walk or the small pedestrian bridge under the Tobu Line over the Sumida River, the scenic view attracts visitors. It is like a straight line to connect both banks of the river where thousands of tourists enjoy Skytree, Azumabachi, Asahi beer building, cruise, and beautiful river banks.
There are three more small bridges: the Makura bridge, the Genmo bridge, and the Kaume bridge, to arrive at Skytree, except the Sumida River Walk. These bridges are also good spots to capture Skytree in your memory photo album.
The distance between these two beautiful tourist spots roughly 8-10 minutes, depends on how you walk. However, as a tourist or photographer cannot arrive within the specific time because of its beautiful sceneries.
After crossing the Sumida River, from the Makura bridge, the Mizumachi west zone starts, where tourists can walk both sides under the railway. The right side is a pedestrian walkway along the Kitajukken River, and the left side is for both cycling and pedestrians.
Where to take rest?
The western zone of the Mizumachi is part of Sumida Park, where tourists can enjoy green lawns, Cherry blossoms, Japanese-stye gardens, a lake, and Ushijima Shrine.
Besides, Mizumachi has many shops, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, FamilyMart, dry-cleaning, and souvenir shops under the Rail Line.
Some shops and cafes are very popular with tourists, such as LAND-A, KONCENT, Ichiya, Jack’s Wife Freda, and NIHONBASHI BREWERY.
Jack’s Wife Freda is one of the most famous shops among foreign tourists. This shop is not famous here because of Jack and Freda’s love story, but it’s for delicious cuisine.
If you’re here, you can try. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied too.
In short, tourists can rest in the park under the trees taking out a hot coffee, or inside a cafe enjoying a beautiful Japanese garden.
Enjoy Mizumachi trip.
