Hotels in Tokyo are expensive. However, there are few areas where accommodations are really reasonable, depending on your choices.

Find Hotel in Tokyo
Tokyo is a big city with 23 special Wards, 26 Cities, one district, and 4 sub-prefectures. Every Ward or City has numerous hotels. But if you are new in Tokyo, you do not know where to stay because you do not have much idea about the hotels in Tokyo.
On the other hand, it only depends on where do you want to stay? The same standard hotels in some areas more expensive than in other areas.
As an example, the hotels located in Shinjuku or Ginza are more expensive than Asakusa or Ueno. However, some of the selective hotels in Tokyo keeps the fare reasonable.
Recommended:
Fare rate per night:
According to areas, the rates may vary but not much different. I categorized carefully.
Check the hotels in Tokyo below which category you want to stay in and book immediately without delay.
5 Star (Luxury) 15,000-45,000 yen
4 Star (premium) 5,000-15,000 yen
3 Star (Standard) 3,000-7,000 yen
2 or less (economy) 2,000-7,000 yen
Some 5-star hotels:
Among the numerous 5 star hotels in Tokyo, some of the hotels are very famous. These hotels have a long history and good services such as Imperial Hotel, Hilton Tokyo, The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, Keio Plaza Hotel, Conrad Tokyo, Park Hyatt Tokyo, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, and The Capitol Hotel Tokyu.
4-star hotels in Tokyo:
Comparing to 5-star hotels, 4-star hotels are more in number. But some of the hotels are famous to tourists, such as Asakusa View Hotel, Richmond Hotel Premier Asakusa International, Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Oshiage, Tokyu Stay Shinjuku, Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu, and Hotel Sardonyx Ueno.
A few 3-star hotels:
There are countless 3-star hotels. But some of the hotels have outstanding fame, such as Hotel Sardonyx Tokyo, Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nihonbashi, Red Planet Tokyo Asakusa, and Hotel Wing International Shinjuku.
However, the APA branch and Sotetsu Fresa Inn branches are considered good 3-star hotels in Tokyo. These two hotels have branches in almost every town and ward.
Some 2 Star hotels:
2 star or less (economy) hotels are everywhere in Tokyo. But services are not recommendable. These hotels are usually designed for backpackers.
However, some of the economy hotels have some excellent services. Some staff can talk English, such as Sakura Hotel Asakusa, Grids Tokyo Ueno Ekimae Hotel & Hostel, Imano Tokyo Hostel, and Tokyo Guest House Itabashi -juku.
Area wise:
Some of the areas are top-rated tourist spots in Tokyo, and tourists want to stay in the regions. But, according to my practical experience, it is not a matter because Tokyo has wonderful public transportation.
23 Special Wards are the main tourist destination in Tokyo. Going from one ward to another ward takes only 5-22 minutes by train.
At the same time, the fare of the train is also cheap, approximately 160-220 yen.

Are you still not sure?
Klook is the best travel-related website in Asia that offers fantastic service worldwide, including reasonable hotels, tours, and travel-related activities.
You can find everything about your destination. You can put your question in the search box and find your answer.
Recommendation:
If you do not have a specific reason to stay in a particular place, my ultimate recommendation is to stay in Asakusa or Ueno for two reasons.
1) Among the Hotels in Tokyo, Asakusa and Ueno are much cheaper.
2) Transportation is good. You can access most of Tokyo’s top tourist spots in less than 30 minutes by subway train, including Imperial Palace, Shibuya, Skytree, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills, Gotokuji Temple, and Atago Shrine, etc.
Besides, Asakusa and Ueno are both top-rated tourist places in Tokyo. These two places are located in Taito Special Ward.
Asakusa is a traditional Japanese town. Very few tourists who visited Tokyo are found not visiting Asakusa during their Tokyo trip.
Asakusa is not only famous for Sensoji Temple, but it is famous as a traditional Japanese town
Similarly, Ueno is famous for Zoo and numerous museums. Most of the famous museums are located in Ueno.
Of course, finding hotels in Tokyo is complicated and needs time to find, but Klook made it easy.
Enjoy your trip.
