Premier Spots to Experience Shibuya Crossing:
Many people may recommend many places, but according to my long experience as well as a Tokyo Tour Guide, I only recommend a few places where you really can enjoy Shibuya Crossing’s Best View from above.
1) L’Occitane Café Shibuya:
L’Occitane Café Shibuya elevated to the top of my list; this café offers a chic and relaxed environment in which to enjoy the view. With large windows overlooking the crossing, it’s the perfect place to sip a coffee or tea and watch the bustling activity below.
The elegant atmosphere of the café enhances the experience, making it a prime spot for both leisure and photography.
If you want to enjoy and search for a spot to experience Shibuya Crossing’s best view,I strongly recommend L’Occitane Café Shibuya.
The cafe has second and third floors. According to my experience, the third floor is the best. I took many of my tourists who booked me as a tour Guide, and they all were delighted from the third floor.
But don’t forget to ask the waiters or waitresses for a window side table.
2) Starbucks Coffee Shibuya Tsutaya:
This Starbucks is renowned for its front-row view of the crossing. The transparent glass walls allow for an unobstructed view of the iconic scramble. Given its popularity, it’s advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot.
However, it’s my second choice after L’Occitane Café Shibuya. This location is a little higher than the L’Occitane Café Shibuya but enough to enjoy crossing.
3) SHIBUYA SKY:
SHIBUYA SKY offers an impressive aerial view for those aiming to capture Shibuya Crossing from Above. Located in Shibuya Scramble Square, the SKY STAGE on the 46th floor presents a panoramic view of the crossing and the Tokyo skyline.
However, many don’t enjoy fully from here. It’s too high compared to the first two spots. Besides, visitors need admission fees here.
Offering free admission, the walkway at Shibuya Mark City is another great choice. It provides a mid-level view through its glass walls, giving a different perspective on the crossing’s intricate dance.
Moreover, it’s one of the most enjoyable spots. Visitors need to line up for neither seats nor admission fees.
If you’re in a hurry, try it, and you’ll enjoy it.
5) Magnet by Shibuya 109:
The rooftop MAG’s PARK at this popular shopping destination affords a splendid view of the crossing. A minimal admission fee grants access to this elevated spot, which is ideal for both day and night viewing.
However, people feel very lonely, and it’s not as enjoyable as the other four spots.
6) Gusto Shibuya Ekimae Store:
Located on the 7th floor, Gusto offers a high vantage point, perfect for capturing a unique angle of the crossing. It’s an ideal location for those looking to photograph the crossing with a bird’s-eye view.
If you have enough time, try it. But I don’t recommend it as I do the first two spots.
Enhancing Your Shibuya Crossing Experience:
To fully appreciate the Shibuya Crossing Best View, consider visiting these locations at different times. The crossing’s character shifts from the daytime hustle to the illuminated evenings.
Photographers will find the early morning or twilight hours particularly enchanting for capturing the perfect shot.
Each location, especially the L’Occitane Café Shibuya, provides a distinctive way to experience the Shibuya Crossing from Above. This iconic spot is more than just a busy intersection; it’s a testament to Tokyo’s pulsating heart and orderly rhythm, offering a unique blend of visual spectacle and urban narrative.
Whether you’re there for photography or to soak in the city’s energy, Shibuya Crossing is a must-visit landmark in Tokyo.
