What’s Koinobori Festival?
One of the most famous traditional Japanese annual spring festivals is Kodomo no hi, Children’s Day in English. The people of Japan celebrate on May 5 every year.
Most of the famous shopping centers and tourist centers observe the day. Offices, schools, colleges, and universities remain closed on the day as it’s a National Holiday in Japan.
However, most tourist attractions and famous shopping centers arrange programs to celebrate Children’s Day with colorful cloth Carps Streamers called ‘Koinobori’ in Japanese.

What to expect at the festival?
The Tokyo Skytree Town Koinobori festival is a spectacular sight to behold. Over 800 colorful carp streamers flutter in the air on the fourth floor of the Tokyo Skytree Sky Arena.
At the same time, over 1,000 traditional cloth carp streamers stream over the Kitajukkun River every year. Besides that, many shops at Solamachi Town and Solamachi Square join the festivities by creating colorful Koinobori decorations.

b) Koinobori Festival:

Even though, Children’s Day is on May 5. Instead, Tokyo Skytree Town celebrates on Sunday, May 7, so everyone can enjoy the day.
Besides, the event is family-friendly. Children can enjoy the flea market at Sky Arena. Sky Arena is a place where visitors can enjoy gourmet food and drinks like strawberry desserts, Korean sweets, banana juice, and ice cream on the spot, along with slides and inflatable jumping castles.
