Saturday:
- 1:15 p.m. – The Parade Begins: Gather along Kappabashi Hondōri, which runs from Asakusa Station towards Ueno Station. Watch as the road transforms into a “pedestrian paradise,” buzzing with excitement. The highlight of the day is the impressive parade featuring a dynamic procession of motorbikes and various police troupes.
Sunday:
- Day-long – Street Performances: A day dedicated to dazzling street performances that fill the streets of Asakusa with vibrant energy. Witness the talents of street performers, be mesmerized by nimble jugglers, and sway with the rhythm of the Awa Oori dance troupes.
- Throughout the day – Shamisen and Taiko Performances: Be sure to attend the traditional music sessions featuring the melodic shamisen and the heart-pounding taiko drums. These performances will captivate you with their rhythm and resonance, enhancing the festival atmosphere.

By Subway:
- Tsukuba Express: TX Asakusa Station’s location is perfect for exploring Asakusa’s attractions: Kappabashi Street: 5-minute walk west.
- Tokyo Metro Ginza Line: Asakusa Station is a Tokyo Metro Ginza Line stop. This line provides easy access from major stations such as Ueno, Ginza, and Shibuya.
- Toei Asakusa Line: The Toei Asakusa Line also stops at Asakusa Station and is a good option if you’re coming from Oshiage (where the Tokyo Skytree is located), Nihombashi, or Shinagawa. This line also connects with both of Tokyo’s airports, Haneda and Narita, making it convenient for international visitors.
By Train:
- Tobu Skytree Line: If you’re near Tokyo Skytree, you can take the Tobu Skytree Line from Tobu Skytree Station to Asakusa Station.
Once you arrive at Asakusa Station, the festival grounds are just a short walk away. Specifically, the parade along Kappabashi Hondori will be conveniently closed.
