Background:
Nagasaki Shofukuji Temple was founded in 1629 by the Chinese monk Chaonian. It was initially built as a place of worship for Chinese residents in Nagasaki, reflecting the city’s multicultural heritage and strong historical ties with China.

You will go under a big wooden gate as soon as you climb the high stairs. It is called Daiippōmon, which is one of the National Treasures.
Besides, when you go inside, you will find another National Treasure, which is called “Great Leader’s Hall” in English.
The temple really looks old. Interestingly, I saw many foreign nationals come to visit it.
Honestly, the first gate of the Nagasaki Shofukuji Temple looks fantastic from Daiippōmon. Do not forget to look back from Daiippōmon and take a stunning shoot.
